Cmdr. Laurin Eskridge presents Lt. Guy Reschenthaler with the Michael Taylor Shelby Award For Professionalism in Federal Service.

The Federal Bar Association, Southern District of Texas Chapter, awarded Lt. Guy Reschenthaler, Naval Legal Service Office Central, the Michael Taylor Shelby Award Nov. 10, 2011. The award was established in 2006 to honor the memory of Michael Taylor Shelby. Shelby served as the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Texas (2001-2005) and served as an officer in the Navy JAG Corps.

The Shelby award is given to an attorney in federal service in the Southern District of Texas, other than a sitting judge, who exhibits outstanding dedication, ethics and professionalism in the practice of law on behalf of the federal government. The award consists of a plaque to the attorney and recognition in the attorney lounge at the federal courthouse in Houston.

Reschenthaler was nominated for the award by his former commanding officer, Cmdr. Andrew House.  Cmdr. Laurin Eskridge presented Reschenthaler with the award.
