This week’s Throwback Thursday features Rear Adm. James Crawford, deputy judge advocate general of the Navy and commander, Naval Legal Service Command, in 2001.

Then Capt. James Crawford “clicks his heels” upon departing his post as fleet judge advocate for U.S. 7th Fleet for the last time in September 2001. Rear Admiral Crawford is now the deputy judge advocate general of the Navy and commands Naval Legal Service Command. He leads the attorneys, enlisted legalmen, and civilian employees of 14 commands, providing prosecution and defense services, legal services to individuals, and legal support to commands around the world.
