Stephen Waldron,
Fiscal & Resource Services Support (Code 64), was recently accepted into the Executive Masters of Business Administration (EMBA) program at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS).
Waldron, a Supervisory Financial Management Analyst, has worked for the Office of the Judge Advocate General (OJAG) for eight years. He is responsible for budget formulation and day-to-day budget execution. EMBA is a 24-month, Navy-funded, part-time graduate program is a defense-focused management curriculum.
The program is geared for senior officers and senior civilians, and begins with a one-week resident program at the NPS campus. The course of instruction includes 17 courses taught over a two-year period. Students attend classes one day a week, with two courses taught each quarter.
"I am still in the beginning stages of my career and have already become a Certified Defense Financial Manager as a part of my professional development," said Waldron. "An EMBA would further my own personal professional development as well as brining the skills and education I obtain back to OJAG to help with our mission."
After the week long orientation and class at the NPS at the end of August, Waldron will begin the distance learning courses.
