Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced that the President has made the following nominations: Navy Rear Adm. Nanette M. DeRenzi has been nominated for appointment to the rank of vice admiral and for assignment as judge advocate general of the Navy, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. DeRenzi is currently serving as deputy judge advocate general of the Navy, Washington, D.C. Navy Rear Admiral (lower half) James W. Crawford III, has been nominated for appointment to the rank of rear admiral and for assignment as deputy judge advocate general of the Navy. Crawford is currently serving as commander, Rule of Law Field Force-Afghanistan.
