RLSO Southeast Scores First Place in Three Categories at MWR Race

By Lt. Josh Won, Region Legal Service Office Southeast

On Dec. 10, 2021, 10 members of the JAG Community's Region Legal Service Office (RLSO) Southeast team participated in a group fitness training event – a local 5K race.  Three earned first place medals for their respective division and age categories.

The Jingle Bell Jog 5K is organized annually by the Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville.  With markers placed at the scenic running trails around NAS Jacksonville, it seemed the perfect opportunity for command members to enjoy outdoor physical training.

Lt. Jessica Fetzer, Lt. Danielle Zucker, and Lt. j.g. Ryan Fuller – who serve as assistant command fitness leaders for RLSO Southeast – coordinated the command’s voluntary participation in the MWR event.  Each then proceeded to win first place in their respective divisions and age categories.

Zucker earned first place for the female division age category 20-29.  When asked about her experience, Zucker said, “The best part of the race was getting to run with my friends at the command!  They helped push me to the finish!”

As it happens, Zucker crossed the line at the same time as Fetzer, the first place winner for the female division age category 30-39.

Fuller expressed humility when contacted about his victory, saying, “It was a great honor to participate in the Jingle Bell Jog, a venerable NAS Jacksonville tradition.  I was equally humbled and surprised to take home the medal for the age 20-29 male division of the race.  A JAG Corps memory I will not soon forget!”

RLSO Southeast supports the operational readiness of Department of the Navy assets in the Southeastern U.S. by providing responsive, timely and accurate legal guidance, support services and training in the areas of military justice, legal assistance and administrative law.
