ARAWA, Autonomous Region of Bougainville, Papua New Guinea (July 2, 2015) Capt. Chris Engdahl, Pacific Partnership 2015 mission commander, and Lt. Jessica Koningisor, a Navy judge advocate general, greet a teacher at the Tubiana Primary School during a community outreach project. Personnel from the hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) visited the school to play volleyball and soccer with local school children. Mercy is currently at its second mission port of Papua New Guinea as part of Pacific Partnership 2015. Pacific Partnership is in its 10th iteration and is the largest annual multilateral humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. While training for crisis conditions, Pacific Partnership missions to date have provided real world medical care to approximately 270,000 patients and veterinary service to more than 38,000 animals.
